For some suspensions there is the possibility to further dewater the cake by applying additional local pressure on each chamber after the normal filtration process
Plate shifting
To evacuate the cake by gravity after
filtration, the plates have to be separated one by
one. That can be done manually, but today the automatic version is preferred.
